MEET THE STAFF

Terry Brown
Lead Pastor

Terry Brown has been in ministry for over 30 years. He came to Legacy in the 80s. He has a heart for ministry and growing the Kingdom of God in Auburndale. He and his wife Debbie have two children, six grandkids, and they love getting together and spending time with their family.

 

QUICK QUESTIONS WITH PASTOR:

What is your favorite food? Cracker Barrel

What is your ideal vacation? Anywhere with my grandkids, and somewhere I can fish.

Coffee or Tea? I don’t really drink either. Debbie loves tea, but I prefer lemonade.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I’ve been to a lot of places, I just like going on cruises now.

What is your favorite scripture? Galatians 6:9

Matthew Brown
Assistant Pastor

Matt Brown has been working at Legacy since 2016 as the Assistant Director of Thrive Student Ministries. Recently, he has assumed the role of Assistant Pastor, and will be assisting Pastor Terry around Legacy. Matt has a passion for seeing the church get back to basics and just hold true to the calling given to us in Acts 2.

 

QUICK QUESTIONS WITH MATT:

What is your favorite food? Chipotle, I could always eat Chipotle if offered to me.

What is your ideal vacation? The Beach

Coffee or Tea? I dislike coffee, and tea. I like sweet tea, and Body Armor juice.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I will go to London one day, but specifically Stamford Bridge. COYB!

What is your favorite scripture? Amos 4:1, but only in the NLT version. Look it up!

John and Kim Watkins
Directors of Kidz Ministry

John and Kim Watkins have been at Legacy since 1995. They started out at the Children Pastors, and since have taken on the role as Directors of Kidz Ministry. They have been married for over 20 years, and have two kids, Kaitlin and Roslin. John and Kim are passionate about local outreach, and desire to see the Kingdom of God grow and to reach the people of Auburndale.

 

QUICK QUESTIONS WITH JOHN AND KIM:

What is your favorite food? K: Italian food, for both of us. J: Yep, what she said.

What is your ideal vacation? J: Wherever my wife wants to go. Maybe a beach, or mountains. K: We don’t really vacation much, but the mountains sounds nice. And the beach too. Just some time with the family.

Coffee or Tea? J+K (simultaneous): Tea

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? J: Italy, or where ever Kim wants to go, probably Hawaii. K: Hawaii, or where ever John wants to go, like he wants to go to Italy.

What is your favorite scripture? K: Philippians 4:13 J: The whole book of James.

Carissa Vanderpoel
Administrative Assistant

Carissa has been at Legacy for the shortest amount of time. She joined the team in 2019. She has a desire to help behind the scenes and to assist Pastor Terry with the administration of the church. Carissa loves passion, so when she heard about the passion and drive of Legacy, she knew she wanted to be a part of that.

 

QUICK QUESTIONS WITH CARISSA:

What is your favorite food? My mom makes the best Chicken Cordon Bleu. So good.

What is your ideal vacation? I’ve always wanted to go to Colorado and stay in the mountains for a week or so. Go skiing and things like that. Oh! And I want to cruise the Mediterranean and see where Paul was when he traveled to all the churches.

Coffee or Tea? Coffee. Cold brew specifically.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Bora Bora. I don’t know where it is. But it’s a cool sounding place. But also Italy and Greece, and Isreal. Everywhere basically.

What is your favorite scripture? Hebrews 13:6, I love it.
